Councilwoman Keisha Dorsey is a millennial native Louisvillian living in the Shively area, who grew up in Portland and moved to the North Shively/West Louisville area when she was 8.

Keisha Dorsey was elected as councilwoman for District 3, on November 2018 and took office on January 7th, 2018. She represents six neighborhoods: Algonquin, California, Hallmark, Park Duvalle, Parkland, Park Hill, and the City of Shively. As a Louisville native she has served her community in a variety of ways through the years; including on educational, health advisory, and community development boards.

In 2019, she serves as Chair of the Metro Council's Health and Education Committee. She is also a member of the Economic Development and Labor, Budget and Planning and Zoning Committees.

She holds an undergraduate degree in Biological Studies from Oakwood College, an HBCU and attended the University of Louisville for her Masters in Public Health. During her time at the University of Louisville she specialized in the field of Healthcare Administration and spent her collegiate summers at the Louisville Metro Department of Health and Wellness as an Environmental Specialist to Norton Healthcare. Councilwoman Dorsey has led a variety of community health and wellness endeavors, most notably the Healthy Equity Summit and Louisville Men’s Health Event. Keisha Dorsey comes from a background of Healthcare Administration used her time in corporate culture to refine leadership skills and establish collaborative networks.

Councilwoman Keisha Dorsey is skilled at identifying and removing obstacles, while executing quality improvement and excellent cost reduction strategies. She understands the use of creativity and the value of a hands-on approach and will use her experience to bring innovative ideas for District 3. Councilwoman Dorsey’s goal is to empower, engage, and ignite the residents of District 3.
